In-Home Pet Euthanasia Services

Home Euthanasia

A Peaceful Goodbye in the Comfort of Home

Saying goodbye to your beloved companion is one of life's most difficult moments. At Mobile Animal Doctors, we provide gentle, dignified in-home euthanasia services to ensure your pet's final moments are free from stress and surrounded by love.

Scheduling

Appointments are generally available everyday of the week. If possible, we recommend scheduling at least a day or two in advance, We offer after hours euthanasia.

Process

The following is the basic explanation of the process. However, a benefit of choosing in-home euthanasia is that we are able to customize and personalize the process given your unique pet and situation.

We perform the actual euthanasia in 2 steps:

1. Initially, we administer pain medication, anti-anxiety medication, and sedative. If your pet is still interested in food, this is a great time for cheeseburgers, ice cream sandwiches, anything (s)he still loves.

You can sit with your pet throughout the entire process including as (s)he becomes comfortable, relaxed, sleepy, and eventually fully anesthetized.

We can do this wherever you and your pet are most comfortable. You determine who is present (people and/or pets) and the environment (quiet, music, etc.) - whatever is most calming.

2. When your pet is ready, we give the final injection. Know that you can be present for as much or as little as you choose. If you have a blanket that your pet can lie on and can come with him/her, that is ideal, but not essential.

Aftercare Options for Your Beloved Pet

Saying goodbye is one of the hardest moments we share with families. After your pet has been peacefully put to sleep, we offer cremation services to help guide you through the next steps. If you choose cremation, we can gently take your pet with us and arrange everything on your behalf.

1. Individual Cremation (ashes returned)

Your pet is cremated individually, and their ashes are respectfully collected and returned to you in a chosen urn or keepsake container. This option is ideal for families who wish to keep a memorial at home or scatter the ashes in a meaningful place.

2. Group/Communal Cremation (no ashes returned)

In a communal cremation, pets are cremated together and no ashes are returned. This is a simple and dignified option for families who prefer not to receive ashes but still want their pet treated with care and respect.

3. Home Burial

If you prefer home burial, you are welcome to keep your pet with you for this option. Please ensure burial complies with local council guidelines regarding depth and location.
